Huawei P9 Review

In London at a special event, Huawei revealed information about its new smartphone Huawei P9, successor of the very popular Huawei P8. It is a really good smartphone. I personally like it. Huawei has done great job in bringing this device in the competition of the bigger android smartphones.
One thing that has changed is the 1080p resolution instead of QHD. Huawei’s CEO stated that QHD is waste of battery.

The P9 has sleek metal body reminiscent in every way to its predecessor. The Huawei assures they are providing users with a smartphone that has premium look and the slim body. P9 has rounded corners with a slight curvature that combines seamlessly with the frame.
The Huawei P9 doesn’t have any buttons on the front of the device but they’ve put physical or capacitive buttons on the side of the body. On the back there are two camera lenses next to which the LED flash and autofocus laser is placed. The company placed fingerprint reader square on the back same like Coolpad Note 3, LeTv 1S and Honor 7.
The power button on Huawei P9 is placed on the right side with volume buttons above the power button.  SIM and MicroSD card slots placed on the left side. On the bottom speakers, USB type C and headphone jack is placed. The P9 has 145 x 70.9 x 6.95 mm frame, weighs 144g and was light and easy to handle.

Huawei P9 comes with 5.2-inch full HD display with resolution (1920 x 1080 p). You can change the brightness and color in the settings and if you want to use Google Cardboard VR with your phone you need to increase pixel density for better visual experience.

Testing the screen, it seemed bright and quickly responded to commands. The company says that P9’s screen offer 96% greater color brightness and saturation.

Huawei P9 runs on the Kirin 955 processor with Mali-T880 GBU and it comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. While the Huawei P8 runs on Kirin 930 processor and the P9 is 20% faster than P8 as company promised.

The Huawei P9 comes with 12MP rear lenses with dual-pixel technology and the apertures of f/2.2. Huawei has chosen Lecian as its partner in this device. The P9 features RGB sensor that provides greater brightness with high-quailty shots in low-light.
In the front of P9 8MP with aperture of f/2.4 is placed and there is no shortage of options for its beauty and lighting option for selfies.

The Huawei P9 runs on non-removable 3000 mAh battery and this is bigger than the previous model which has 2680 mAh battery. Huawei guarantees 1.15 days of battery life under heavy usage and 1.68 under moderate usage.
If you are watching HD videos the battery life is 12 hours and eight hours of browsing and 20 hour of calls.
