In May, Microsoft announced the release of Cortana, the first personal digital-assistant who works across the PC & phone for Android and iOS devices. The beta of the Cortana app is available to Android phone users.
You would know the benefits of Cortana, if you are a Windows 10 user. This app on Android is the companion to your Windows 10 PC and extends functionality of Cortana across any device, everywhere.
The Cortana app is similar to the PC or Windows phone version. With the help of the app, you can manage your daily lifestyle and routine by setting reminders, searching the web instantly, tracking important information such as flight details as well as starting and completing tasks across all of your devices.
The Beta mode of this app is currently launched and several improvements are made to the experience including the ability to set Cortana as the destination for the home button press. Now access to your personal digital assistant is just a button-press away.
It is a very exciting experience, the app suggests you trailers to watch, look for upcoming movies, give details of the hotels and other destination of choice. This app has great functionality and all of the windows 10 users might have experienced it. The app is out for Android users and will be available for iOS users in a short span as well.
There are also a few differences between what Cortana can do in Windows and in the app on Android. For example toggling settings, opening apps or invoking the app hands-free by saying “Hey Cortana” are only available on Windows for now.
Users can access the Cortana app for Android via the Play Store. Cortana on Android is currently available in the U.S. only, but Microsoft is planning to roll it out to other markets. Stay tuned for more details.
