Moto G5 Launched! why Lenovo do we need this?

At an event in Delhi today Lenovo Launched the all new but unfortunately redundant Moto G5, so today let’s quickly take a look at the device and what all it packs! With a Tagline Moto G5 Launched! why Lenovo do we need this?
Design
So the first thing that hits when holding Moto G5 or for that matter any device is its design so first let’s talk a look at the design of the Moto G5 and here I am actually in a dilemma as Moto G5 comes with a metal and Plastic body what metal and Plastic how?

The front of the Smartphone is made up of plastic and the top and bottom parts of the back is also made up of plastic but only the middle part of the device is made of metal and if that gives you a dejavu’ feeling then that’s because it’s the same type of construction found in the Lenovo owned Lenovo vibe K5 and the K5 Plus which isn’t a bad thing by any means as when you loose all metal construction you get removable battery which is great and Quite rare to see these days how ever the design of the device is every bit same as it’s bigger brother the Moto G5 Plus which means it has the power lock and unlock key which despite being plastic is thankfully textured to differentiate it with the volume rockers  which are also located at the right side of the device.

We find nothing at the left of the device, on top we have the 3.5MM Headphone jack at the bottom we have the Micro USB port and a notch to open the back panel and at the back we have the 13MP F2.0 camera with dual LED flash along with a secondary noise cancellation microphone and the Moto Logo and when we flip the Smartphone we find the 5MP f2.2 camera, some Sensors, an Earpiece which also doubles as a Speaker and a Moto Logo just Below the earpiece.

Display

5.5″ FHD IPS LCD Display with 441PPI along with Gorilla Glass 3 protection so that’s nice also on the front at the bottom we find the new redesigned Home Button/Fingerprint sensor and primary Microphone so this is all about the design and placements of the device.

Hardware

Moto G5 Comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octacore SoC which is clocked at 1.4Ghz along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage for now and there will also be a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant available in the near future not to mention now you can use both the Sims and SD card that too up to 256GB thanks to Dedicated SD slot along with Dual seperate sim slots, so I guess performance will be more or less similar like the Lenovo k6Power which is not bad.

Camera

Lenovo Moto G5 comes with a 13MP f2.0 Camera with PDAF or Phase Detection Auto Focus with and 1080p or Full HD video recording which is acceptable and at the front we have a 5MP f2.2 shooter with 1080p video recording capability

Software, Price, Battery, Conclusion

we have Android 7.0 Nougat with some of the Moto actions that we love and not to mention now we can disable the on screen navigation buttons and use the single home button just like the Lenovo z2Plus so that’s great! (having options is always great) Finally all said the Lenovo Moto G5 is powered by a 2800mAh Removable battery and I guess that ok considering you can carry a seperate battery and swap it with a new one when needed but still I hope you wouldn’t need to do that as the Moto G5 will get you till the dinner session, so all this package comes at the price of 11999/-INR and is exclusively available in Amazon from today mid night 11:59PM, so all an all the Lenovo Moto G5 is to be Frank a Confusing offering from Lenovo just as the way the

Moto G4
was last year and if my conclusion doesn’t make sense for you please let me explain as the Lenovo owned Lenovo k6Power has almost the same specs as the Moto G5 along with better build, better speakers and a higher capacity battery (4000mAh) that too at a Cheaper price of just 9999/-INR or pay 1000 more I.e., 10999/-INR to get 4GB RAM variant of the same which is great! If not look Pass the Lenovo or Moto brand, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (3GB+32GB) variant is available for exactly the same price with much better build and performance and with exemplary Battery-life so to be honest Lenovo launching the Moto G5 at this time of the year feels a bit confusing! And Redundant just as I said in the very beginning! But not to mention just as we feel that there will be only few buying the Moto G5 I guess Lenovo also knows it so it is offering a 1000/-INR Cashback if you use HDFC credit card and also 16GB SanDisk SD card and also all the Moto G5 buyers will get 80% off on eBooks (up to 300max) and also you can get 500 off if you exchange it with your old device so that’s a lot of freebies for a device, still our thoughts about the device remains the same, So there you have it a quick look at Lenovo Moto G5 and do you agree with
what we Say if not what is that you don’t agree with do let us know your thoughts in the Comments section below and help us out with some sharing on your favorite Social Networks!
