A couple of days earlier Micromax took the stage and proudly (haha) announced it’s flagship Smartphone aka Micromax Dual 5 and during the launch event Micromax couldn’t stop bragging about the tech that it crammed inside the Micromax Dual 5 but eventually everything but the logo about the Smartphone turned out to be just a Rebranded “Qiku 360 Q5” Yes! Micromax has actually tried to make us fool by just launching the Qiku 360 Q5 with just the companies logo embedded at the back, rest said not a single thing about the Hardware of the Micromax Dual 5 has been changed!
Let’s actually get to the specs of the Micromax Dual 5 aka the Rebranded Qiku 360 Q5, so starting off The Dual 5 has a 5.5″ FHD AMOLED display with 401PPI with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 on top the same as Qiku 360 Q5, an all metal Unibody construction the same as Qiku 360 Q5, a Dual 13MP Sony rear shooter (One B/W Sensor + One RGB Sensor) with f1.8 aperture and a 1.12 micron pixel size with PDAF or phase detection auto focus and good news is they both the Sensors are covered by the same Gorilla Glass 3 glass Dual LED flash along with a fingerprint scanner at the back and also a front facing 13MP shooter and front facing flash at the front for you owl’s waiting to click selfie at night so that’s nice but again the same as Qiku 360 Q5, coming to the part that Powers the Micromax Dual 5 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octacore SoC with a set of 4 high power Cortex A72 cores clocked at 1.82Ghz each and another set of 4 power efficient Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.44Ghz each coupled with Adreno 510GPU along with 4GB of RAM and a whopping 128GB of inbuilt storage with expandability Via Hybrid Dual-sim slot so that’s serious power but again as we said the same as Qiku 360 Q5 and yeah there is also a 3200mAh non-removable battery which also supports Qualcomm’s quick charge 3.0.
Micromax Dual 5 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with a promised Android 7.0 Nougat update with in the month of release by for now the UI has been customized a lot and thankfully there is something that is made by Micromax on this device but again there is a feature which Micromax was bragging quite a bit was that the Dual 5 comes equipped with a dedicated CCEAL5 Chip which is military grade protected which means your Micromax Dual 5 (I.e., if you buy one) will be extremely secure and is one of the most secured devices available on the market but again this is also similar to the Qiku 360 Q5, huh! so now so you understand why we say everything but the Logo of the Micromax Dual 5 is its own rest said everything else is just a Rebranded Qiku 360 Q5, which is actually a thing of shame for not only the company but to all of us being Indians as Micromax not only selling the Rebranded Qiku 360 Q5 or also flaunts as if it is its own design and as if the company has spent millions on the R&D of the Smartphone another thing that Micromax highlights is that it is made in India and the company uses the slogan #MadeInIndia which to think of is just ridiculous as the Qiku 360 Q5 is manufactured by a Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Qiku 360 that too in China so if Micromax Dual 5 is just a Rebranded Qiku 360 Q5 then how come is it manufactured in India, think?
So all an all although we agree that the Micromax Dual 5 is a solid offering from Micromax despite its high price tag of 24999/-INR buy the fact that it is just a Rebranded Qiku 360 Q5 urges us to say Please do not buy this phone, instead go for any other Smartphone which suits your need but please don’t get fooled in patriotism and please let go your thought of buying this phone and again one thing, Neither Get fooled nor let others be fooled so please share this post to as much as possible on your favorite Social Networks so that your friends and family will not be fooled and do let us know what you think of Micromax’s attempt in the name of #MadeInIndia in the Comments section below and help us out with some sharing on your favorite Social Networks!
